Meals on Wheels of Sarasota, Inc. depends on generous community members, students, and corporate partners to package and deliver meals each day. The individual connection that each volunteer has is as nourishing as the food provided. Whether you give your time once a week or once a month, your support is invaluable to fulfilling the Meals on Wheels mission and impacting the lives of hundreds each day.
Students are reccommended to volunteer on Saturdays at 421 N Lime Ave, Sarasota, FL 34237, however Meals on Wheels opperates on a daily basis. Volunteer shifts will last 2 - 3.5 hours.
Volunteer opportunities for students include: setting up the tents at 8 AM, moving boxes, wiping out boxes, delivering meals with a parent/guardian, and more!

Teen Court of Sarasota, Inc. has opportunities for and welcomes both youth and adult volunteers. If you are interested in our program, the best thing to do is come observe the process for yourself! Teen Court sessions take place on Mondays in South County and on Wednesdays in Sarasota.

Humane Society of Sarasota County
The Humane Society of Sarasota County works to shelter pets, provide good foster and adoptive homes for them, and educate for responsible pet care. There is a great Teen Program for students ages 12-17 years old. This Teen Program centers around guiding the young generation into becoming reliable pet caretakers and volunteers at the Humane Society.
The Teen Program consists of four in-person meetings at the Humane Society. There is a one -time $35 fee to cover insurance, T-shirts, and other training supply costs if accepted. Teens must complete a capstone project at the end of the program to show what they have learned. All sessions must be attended in order to graduate.
*Spring 2021 Registration is now closed. For returning NJHS members, please remember to sign up in advance
when Fall Registration opens next year (sometime in summer, June-August).

DoSomething
DoSomething is a youth-led movement that allows the young generation to make an impact in their community. They are offering service hour credits through a variety of online and in-person campaigns regarding current issues. Many of them might suit your interests (i.e. voting campaigns, racial justice campaigns).
Follow these instructions to volunteer:
1. Create a DoSomething account.
2. Sign up for one of the campaigns and follow the instructions for the service project.
3. Upload a picture of your finished product to the website and fill in the number of hours you took.
4. Wait for a staff member to approve this photo, and you will receive a certificate with their signature in your profile. This signature can be used while recording your hours on the NJHS volunteer hours sheet.
